Burnett sentenced to life without parole
Ted Burnett today received life in prison without the possibility of parole for killing 14-year-old Chelsea Brooks. Burnett, 51, was convicted by a jury last month of capital murder in the strangling death of the pregnant teenager, but the jury could not reach a unanimous verdict on the death penalty.
