In 2006 a personal trainer quit her job at Genesis Health Clubs and took a similar one at the YMCA. Genesis invoked a noncompete agreement that she had signed. Because of the suit, the woman agreed to quit her new job and not work in physical fitness for a year.
It must be a bear market, because even billionaire Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway Inc. has slumped more than 20 percent since December. The decline marks the worst first half for the Omaha-based investment and holding company since 1990. Price competition has driven down revenue at Berkshire's insurance units, which account for about half of its income.
