QuikTrip outranks another Wichita gas station for best roadside food in America
As summer road trip season heats up, you might be searching for the best gas stations for food.
Or, maybe you’re just looking for a good gas station for your daily snack. If that’s the case, you are in luck — two of the top 10 best gas stations for food are in Wichita, according to USA Today 10Best’s 2026 rankings.
“Gas stations, convenience stores, and truck stops are more than just a place to grab a quick bite when you’re on the go,” USA Today said on its annual list. “They’re serving up delicious food and snacks that make them destinations in and of themselves, from fried chicken and pizza to organic salads and veggie burritos.”
To determine its rankings, USA Today editors said they teamed up with “seasoned road warriors” to determine their favorite chain gas stations across the U.S., then readers got to vote for their favorites.
Where are the best Wichita gas stations for food?
QuikTrip, or QT, which ranked No. 3, and Casey’s, which placed 8th, are the two Wichita-area gas stations that made the top 10.
QuikTrip
“Through their QT Kitchens counters, QuikTrip serves food that’s made fresh to order each day,” editors said when publishing the annual rankings. “The vast menu includes sub sandwiches, pizza, breakfast sandwiches, and tacos among other delicious fare. In addition to their made-to-order options, QT also leads in grab-and-go with a spread of fresh donuts and other pastries, as well as a roller grill section with a rotation of exciting flavors.”
QT was also ranked the No. 3 best gas station brand in America.
There are more than 30 QuikTrip locations in the Wichita area.
“This is my go to spot for late night food. It’s a reliable spot in the center of downtown Wichita,” a Yelp reviewer wrote in 2017. “Quiktrip is one of the best gas stations in the nation and we’re lucky to have them all over Wichita. I usually get a wrap and a few things from the warming rollers like an egg roll (or) taquito. Nowhere else in Wichita can you get quality food at 4am. I love QT, so much more than gas.”
Casey’s
“Casey’s stores are popular for their pizza, in addition to sandwiches, wings, and breakfast items,” USA Today editors wrote. “They also offer a great selection of pre-packaged foods like ice cream, candy bars, potato chips, and protein bars.”
Casey’s was also ranked the No. 10 best gas station brand in the U.S.
There are 15 Casey’s stores in the Wichita area.
“My favorite place for pizza!” a Google reviewer wrote last year. “Correct amount of pizza toppings, nice browning on crust and cheese, friendly service, clean gas station. I drive across town when I want pizza because the quality is unmatched!”
